I came across Professor Sedlacek's work while reviewing literature for my dissertation. This book is a culmination of years of research. Dr. Sedlacek presents 8 non-cognitive variables that he has proven with previous research to predict the academic performance of students in higher education. The book includes examples of instruments and protocols to measure these non-cognitive variables, great for conducting studies. I was fortunate enough to have a conversation with the author and he gave me some great advice for developing my study. I believe his work can also be instrumental in developing a stronger relationship between K-12 and institutions of higher education.
